i started using snapchat at the end of 6th grade going into 7th grade. 6th grade was the prime of kik then everything started talking about this snapchat so then we moved onto that. it’s crazy thinking back because snapchat was so different back then. there used to be no story feature no memory feature, you couldn’t save messages. the nature of snapchat used to be sending photos, videos for only a short time before it became inaccessible, but it seems like that idea was completely dropped. I remember finding comfort in this app because i could say things without wondering if these messages are being shown or screenshotted
Snapchat’s developer is a public company also called Snap, confusingly. The company itself claims to be a camera company. (As such, it creates other products, including hardware, like Snapchat Spectacles.) Whichever you choose to call it, Snap is headed by co-founder Evan Spiegel.
Snapchat was founded in 2011 by Evan Spiegel, Reggie Brown, and Bobby Murphy, all students at Stanford University. Reportedly, Brown came up with the idea of a social media app that enabled users to post photos and videos that disappeared from the site after a few moments. The duo then approached Bobby Murphy to write the code used to build the app.
